Dedicating Your Exercise Space: Better Results Guaranteed

Whether you are in your own home, outside, or at a gym, dedicating the physical space that you are about to use for exercise is helpful for getting the most out of your workouts.  

First, pick a spot that you are going to use for your workout. Second, mentally and physically size it up. Is it big enough? Do you have what you need (equipment, mat, towel, etc…)?

Next make a commitment to yourself about the specific exercises that you will accomplish in this space, how many calories you’d like to burn, how you would like to feel about yourself afterwards and then go for it! Go back to this thought when you find yourself wanting to give up or thinking  that “you’ve already done enough for today.” This also applies to using cardio and strength machines.

It sounds too easy to work but it’s not. Just by focusing a little more, you are increasing your effort and therefore increasing your calories burned, muscle intensity and overall results. I promise you will ALWAYS feel good about yourself when you follow through with what you set out to do. By the way, this applies to almost anything in life, big and small.

Giving oneself permission to accomplish a task is a great catalyst for actually getting the work done. When you’re finished- no one can take what you have just accomplished away from you!
