How to Cook Pizza on the Grill

September 2, 2015 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

Summer is almost over but it’s not to late to enjoy the end of the season with a fun family cookout. Skip the hot dogs and hamburgers (boring!) and spice things up with a pizza party… cooked on the grill!

We gave it a try and seriously, when you cook pizza on the grill, it tastes like it’s been served fresh out of one of those fancy wood-fired pizza oven. It’s way better than delivery and so easy – kids and grown-ups will both be asking for another slice!

Directions*

Preheat your gas grill, setting all burners on low (maintain approximately 400°F) with lid closed. Now it’s time to get started on that pizza! Remove pizza from overwrap and cardboard, place directly on grate in center of the grill and close the lid.

Grill 12 to 15 minutes total.

Halfway through the total cooking time, rotate pizza by a half turn. Close lid and continue grilling for the remaining time or until cheese is melted and lightly bubbling in the center, crust is golden brown, and product has reached 160°F (checking internal temperature with cooking thermometer).

When the pizza is cooked, let stand approximately five minutes, then serve and enjoy!

*Note: These instructions for use on gas grills only (do not use on charcoal grills)
