Kraft Recalls Individually-Wrapped Cheese Singles

Kraft recalled 36,000 cases of cheese singles due to a potential choking hazard. It seems part of the wrapper remains on the cheese and is potentially dangerous.

“A thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain adhered to the slice after the wrapper has been removed,” Kraft said. “If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could potentially cause a choking hazard.”

The company has received 10 complaints and 3 reports of choking.

The recall includes 3 and 4 pound packages of American and white American slices. Those affected have “best when used by” date between December 29, 2015 and January 4, 2016 followed by “S54” or “S55.”

Kraft is advising consumers to return the cheese to the store for an exchange or refund.
