A Single Mom On Talking the "Big Talk" with Your Kids
It is important to instill in all children a sense of comfort in communicating with their parents. As your child gets older, the questions and struggles that your child needs to address with you become more difficult. The queries dont always have easy answers, but it is important to answer your child as honestly as is appropriate. As the trust and comfort builds in your child, you will realize that it is more comfortable for you, and that the scary, awkward conversations you have been dreading are now completely manageable.
Why Respecting Your Body is More Important Than Ever
Sex has overtaken many aspects of our culture. It is on the television, on the covers of many magazines, in almost every corner of the internet, and our children seem to be immersed in innuendo and direct sexual content. I would not call myself old-fashioned, but I feel that our cultures attitudes and behaviors about sex are out of control, and we seem to be more and more desensitized the more we are exposed to this. I believe that human body is a work of art and should be appreciated. I am not in favor censorship — I am in favor of good taste and mutually respectful behavior that models and emulates a respect for ourselves, each other and our bodies.
RAISING YOUR VIBRATION
RAISING YOUR VIBRATION Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” –Buddha
In Search of Healthy School Lunches
Conscious parenting is about caring for the whole child: body, mind and spirit. Some days, the body needs to come first. Do you know what your child is eating for lunch today?
My House, My Rules!
Ive somehow managed to gain the seal of approval from my daughters friends and become the unofficial go-to adult in cases of personal crisis. Its no small accomplishment, when you consider that the teenagers circle is one private club where membership is not for sale. I feel quite privileged to be trusted by them.
