Meatballs in Barbecue Sauce Recipe

December 10, 2010 by ds_9723 Leave a Comment

If you are looking for a twist on traditional meatballs in marinara sauce, meatballs in barbecue sauce may be just the solution. Inexpensive and easy to make, meatballs in barbecue sauce can be cooked to perfection in a slow cooker. You can literally set the timer and forget about the meatballs until they are done.

Step 1

Place the frozen meatballs into the slow cooker. Open the package and dump them in. No fancy arranging of the meatballs is required.

Step 2

Pour the BBQ sauce over the meatballs. Move the meatballs around with a spoon. Doing so will help ensure that all the meatballs get sauce on them.

Step 3

Pour 1/4 cup of ketchup into the slow cooker. Use the spoon to mix the ketchup into the BBQ sauce.

Step 4

Place the cover on the slow cooker, plug the slower cooker in, and set it to "Low." If your slow cooker has an automatic timer, set the timer to four hours. If it doesn’t, set your kitchen timer to remind you to turn your slow cooker off in four hours.

Step 5

Stir the meatballs occasionally. Stirring the meatballs every hour or so will prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the slow cooker.
