Cooking With Dad: How to Make Mini-Pizzas

July 2, 2012 by Laura Scalone Leave a Comment

Get your kids cooking with this awesome recipe from two gourmet dads – Dean McDermott and Chris Pegula (a.k.a. The Diaper Dude).

Dean and Chris share a tatsty pizza recipe that will encourage your little ones to help out in the kitchen.  They’ll love making a meal they can brag about to the rest of the family

Ingredients

  • Homemade or pre-made pizza dough in the tube (you can also use the biscuits that come in a tube)
  • Olive oil spray
  • Favorite pizza toppings
  • Cookie sheet

Directions

Preheat the oven to the temperature noted on the pizza dough tube (or in your homemade pizza dough recipe).

Give each person a chunk of pizza dough (or one biscuit).  Flatten the dough out so that it’s a good thickness for pizza crust (remembering that it will only rise a little bit).

Let everyone top their pizzas with their favorite toppings: sauce, spices, veggies, meat, and cheese.

Spray your cookie sheet with a little olive oil spray and place each pizza on the sheet with enough room in between that they won’t touch.

Bake according to the dough recipe directions.

Remember: Always keep an eye on the stove because just a few minutes could mean the difference between delicious and burnt.

Want to watch Dean McDermott take you through this recipe step by step? Check out the video below – and be sure to take a look at all the other great cooking videos on the ModernMom YouTube Channel.
